So, why is pornographic material so hard to avoid?
Let’s see…
Here are my Top Ten ‘unavoidables’ – places or ways in which women are depicted as hypersexualised and vacuous:
1. COUNTLESS movie plot lines.
2. COUNTLESS music video clips.
3. This – from a popular movie actress, Megan Fox (one amongst many):
4. This – from a popular female singer, Rhianna (one amongst many):
5. This – from a popular television series for young adults, ‘Two and a Half Men’ (one amonst many):
6. This – from a popular television “reality” show for Gen Y, ‘Jersey Shore’ (one amongst many):
I can’t believe these people have become famous and are rewarded for being shallow and self-centered; with the sole intention of partying and hooking up – episode after episode
*sad, sad face*
7. This – a promotional shot from a popular television show for teens and tweens, ‘Glee’ (leading the way):

Question #32: How much longer do we have to wait until women (like these) say, “No. I’m not doing that.”?
Just one, simple word – No.
Because without women – we can’t see these derogative images.
I can dream that day will come…can’t I?

When there is no money left in it!
A shame but some women aspire to it knowing its what guys like – which it kind of is – but guys can respect girls who dont do it as well. The thing is fame is so fleeting, the hardest way to get it is to show something that sells ( men and women using men and women’s – but mostly women’s bodies) to do it
I think the universal is even women like to look at the female form – though not always sexualized

Yes, Adam, agreed. It just boils down to money – ALL the crap we’re in, is because of money.
I also agree about women looking at the female form – I think it’s beautiful. It’s just lost its mystery and style in the current ‘slut’ culture.
You can add this one to your list …. coming soon to Australia ….. Lingerie Football. Wholesome family entertainment watching women play football in lingerie. And we as a society allow this to happen? (Shudder)

Oh, I know! *Grrr* I saw it a while ago – I can’t believe it…and CAN – all at the same time. But as Adam wrote in the previous comment – it’s just a way to make money. *sad face*

I just think this is really worthy of reblogging, to take a good look at the culture we live in, this is why we women are speaking up, this is why we women are callling good men and women to action, so we don’t have to live in such a demeaning society anymore 24hours a day every day for the rest of our lives. And we women must also stop playing into these images and adding to them, i know this society tells us that our self worth is in the sex tape we can produce or the sexy stripper we play in life in movies in music etc, but narcism isn’t healthy, mainstream porn isn’t healthy, self hate isn’t heathly, girl hate isn’t healthy. For us women, for our children, for our relationships with other women and men. let’s love each other and revere woman and mother enough to stand up and say no, to turn away from these images, change the channel walk away, don’t by the products, infact boycot them, and write write write, to other women to men to corporations to governments. Let’s rise up and speak until we are heard.
